The BMW i8 - A Sporty Hybrid That Runs on Electric Power

If you're looking for a sports car that's capable of running on electric power, the BMW i8 is one of the best choices out there. It's an ultra-efficient hybrid that can run on battery alone, giving you up to 20 miles of pure electric drive. Even better, it can be operated in both gas and electric modes, giving you the option of running a little more economically. But that doesn't mean that the BMW i8 isn't a sporty, performance-oriented car.

The BMW i8 is a two-seater sports car that's built with advanced carbon-fibre construction. In addition, it offers a number of high-tech features, including a 360-degree camera system. It's also the world's first production vehicle to incorporate laser light technology.

The BMW i8 is also the first series-produced plug-in hybrid sports car. Its powertrain includes a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 129bhp, coupled with a front-mounted electric motor that produces 143bhp. All this is driven through a six-speed Steptronic transmission. A two-stage automatic transmission is also integrated.

The interior of the BMW i8 is sleek and futuristic. The color scheme is black and beige with blue accent pieces. There are two large digital screens, and leather upholstery. Some of the materials are made from recycled products. They are soft to the touch and offer good quality.

The BMW i8 is available in both coupe and roadster models. Both have similar fuel economies. The roadster is also equipped with a driving dynamics control with eDRIVE, which gives you the ability to switch between petrol and electric modes. However, the Coupe version does have an additional COMFORT mode, which allows the driver to operate the car with purely electrical power.

On the exterior, the BMW i8 has a low profile. Its body shell is made of a layered design, with "floating" roof pillars connecting the front and rear structures. It also has a front bearing with twin kidney grilles and a muscular and uninterrupted "Black Belt" design.

The rear of the BMW i8 has a glass window that opens up to a five-cubic-foot trunk. The interior features a two-seater layout, with seats that don't have lumbar support. These seats have a low seating position, intended to keep drivers in their optimal position when they make sharp turns. This low profile makes it difficult to get in and out of the car.

Another feature of the BMW i8 is its intelligent energy management system. As part of the DSC system, Dynamic Stability Control monitors wheel rotation, brake pressure, and lateral acceleration. When it detects a risk of loss of stability, it applies brakes to individual wheels to restore the vehicle's stability. Alternatively, the battery can be recharged during braking.

While the BMW i8's low seating and aerodynamic designs have given it a powerful look, it still manages to offer a comfortable ride. Its steering is surprisingly precise and responsive, and the axels are made of lightweight aluminum, allowing the driver to steer with confidence at any speed.
